Bank of Ireland and AIB payments guide for Irish hotels
A working guide to running card payments and SEPA on the Bank of Ireland and AIB rails through Rezlynx. Covers PSD2 Strong Customer Authentication, 3-D Secure 2.2 challenge flow handling, chargeback evidence pack automation, reconciliation and SEPA Direct Debit for corporate accounts.
· I ·Choosing a rail
Bank of Ireland Payment Acceptance (BIC BOFIIE2D) is common across Dublin, Cork city and the Ring of Kerry. AIB Merchant Services (BIC AIBKIE2D) is stronger in Munster boutique and Killarney town. The unified connector routes both rails without operator intervention.
· II ·PSD2 SCA and 3-D Secure 2.2
Both rails support PSD2 Strong Customer Authentication and 3-D Secure 2.2 challenge flow. The connector handles the challenge server-side. Liability shift is retained where the challenge is passed.
· III ·Reconciliation
Daily settlement files land in the Client Portal in a common schema. Rezlynx folios are matched by transaction reference or amount+timestamp fallback. Un-matched items appear in the manual review queue for the operator to inspect.
· IV ·SEPA Direct Debit for corporates
Corporate customers with an Irish or EEA IBAN can be onboarded to SEPA Direct Debit. Mandate storage and pre-notification are handled inside the Client Portal. Bank of Ireland is the SEPA CI creditor identifier by default.
