Fáilte Ireland grading guide for Rezlynx operators
A working guide to the Fáilte Ireland grading regime as it applies to Rezlynx-integrated properties. Covers the 5-star, 4-star, 3-star, Guesthouse, Approved and Welcome Standard schemes, the Sustainable Tourism Certificate, the Discover Ireland pledge and the Fáilte-approved trade tariff. Written from the Dublin desk for operators in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and Killarney.
· I ·The five inspection cycles
Fáilte Ireland runs primary grading inspections on a two-year cycle for hotels, three-year for guesthouses, and event-triggered for self-catering. Welcome Standard is annual. The Sustainable Tourism Certificate runs on a 24-month audit cycle. The Discover Ireland pledge is annual. Rally these calendars in the Fáilte certification tracker module.
· II ·Preparing for inspection week
Inspectors arrive unannounced within a two-week window. The certification tracker sends reminder e-mails at 90, 60, 30 and 7 days out. Assemble the evidence pack — occupancy stats, guest feedback summaries, sustainability metrics, staff training records — using the tracker's auto-assembly from Rezlynx folio data.
· III ·What happens when your grade changes
See the Journal note. In short: force a re-fetch inside GuestlinePortal, review the diff on every guest-facing surface, click Publish. The badges swap within two minutes on booking engine widget, OTA content, invoice footer and Trade Portal listing.
· IV ·Regional grading rhythms
Q1 clusters Dublin four-star inspections. Q2 clusters Galway city and boutique. Q3 clusters Cork suburban. Q4 clusters Killarney town. The regional playbook covers these rhythms per micro-market.
